Founded alongside The Royal Marsden, the world’s first hospital dedicated to the study and treatment of cancer, established in 1851, The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity exists to help the hospital go further than the NHS alone can fund.

Its mission is simple and direct: to raise money for The Royal Marsden, to save the lives of people affected by cancer, everywhere.

The charity raises over £30 million a year to fund research at the hospital and its academic partner, the Institute of Cancer Research, alongside world-leading clinical care and treatment for patients from diagnosis through to recovery.

But its work goes beyond any single ward or laboratory.

By funding the equipment, research and facilities the NHS cannot always provide, the charity helps The Royal Marsden stay at the forefront of cancer treatment, and helps discoveries made there reach patients around the world.

Its vision is ultimately about something much bigger than one hospital: a future in which the breakthroughs made on one site can save lives everywhere.

This matters because progress against cancer is rarely made in one place alone. Turning a single hospital’s breakthroughs into a global impact means moving beyond treatment alone and asking a more important question:
