Summary. As part of our 30 for 30 initiative, we are spending 30 days shining a spotlight on 30 remarkable charities and non-profit organisations whose work makes a meaningful difference to our communities. Over the course of 30 days, we will share their stories, celebrate their impact and create a platform to encourage greater awareness, support and engagement. Today, we feature The Royal Foundation.

Established by The Prince and Princess of Wales as their primary philanthropic vehicle, The Royal Foundation was created out of a simple belief: that real change comes from bringing the right people together around evidence and action, not just good intentions.

Its mission is to mobilise leaders, businesses and people to address some of society’s greatest challenges.

The Foundation runs long-term programmes on the issues its founders have chosen to champion, from early childhood development through the Centre for Early Childhood, to mental health, homelessness through the Homewards programme, and the illegal wildlife trade through United for Wildlife.

But its work goes beyond any single campaign.

Rather than simply funding others, the Foundation designs its own research-led initiatives, convenes experts and organisations who might not otherwise work together, and measures what actually changes as a result.

Its vision is ultimately about something much bigger than any one issue: proving that sustained, evidence-based action can shift entrenched problems that have resisted change for generations.

This matters because so many of society’s hardest problems, from homelessness to childhood mental health, have proven resistant to short-term fixes. Making lasting change means moving beyond awareness alone and asking a more important question:

What does it take to turn good intentions into change that actually lasts?

At 30 for 30, we are proud to celebrate a foundation working to answer exactly that question.

Today, we celebrate The Royal Foundation, and everyone working to address society’s greatest challenges.
